Lanolin products are an essential part of use in the construction industry for environmental reasons.
LantosCoatings RA130 Mold Release Agent provides a barrier as a means of separation between the form and the concrete. It favourably improves process characteristics such as the flow rate of the material being molded within the mold cavity, molding cycle times, and of course release ease. Lantos Coating RA130 mold release, when properly used, aids in the stripping process, assists in producing sound defect-free concrete surfaces, simplifies form cleaning and increases the working life of quality form surfaces. When applying a release agent, it is best to follow the manufacturer's instructions. When too much form release is used it is not only wasteful and inefficient, but it leads to a number of other associated problems with the finished product. "REMEMBER LESS IS BETTER"
A practical release agent pump-up sprayer uses an 8001 flat spray tip which provides droplets fine enough to produce regular or even architectural concrete. An 800067 flat spray tip achieves even finer droplets and potentially better-looking concrete. This last tip produces droplets so fine that a light wind blows away the release agent before it falls on the form. Consequently, use this spray tip only in environments protected from breezes.

APPLICATION COVERAGE RA130
- Construction Concentrate RA130 Concentrate can be used;
- diluted with 1:6 parts water for concrete formwork
- 1:4 mix parts of water for lubricating jacks and fittings, to protect against over-spray adhesion.
- Mix only the amount needed for one day as the mixture may separate after 24hrs.
- Coverage - approx. 20-25 sqm of mixed product.
- Shelf Life - 18 months if kept sealed in reasonable conditions.
STAINING
LANTOS RA130 / RA135 mold release agent when applied very lightly and left to dry before forming reduces the incidence of staining. Staining has been linked to the use of excessive release agent and the use of dirty forms. Dirt, dust, rust, or grease can easily be transferred from a dirty form to the finished surface of the concrete product. Once a form has been properly cleaned and coated with a release agent, proper measures should be taken to minimize the potential for dust and debris to collect on the form before casting.

BUGHOLES
Excessive bug holes occur when a barrier-type release agent is applied too heavily. Barrier-type release agents tend to encapsulate free air along the vertical sidewalls, which leads to surface defects. In contrast, the metallic soap formed when using a reactive release agent allows the free air on the vertical walls to rise more easily to the surface. Proper vibration practices also reduce bug holes. The potential for bug holes and staining can be reduced by selecting an application method that produces the thinnest coat of release agent in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations.

LESS IS BETTER
LANTOS RA130 / RA135 mold release agent when applied very lightly and left to dry before forming eliminates the forming of excessive bug-holes.
Apply using a spray unit that produces a thin coat of release agent - 0.06mm for LANTOS Mold Release Agent. The coating should not be allowed to collect and pool in the forms. Apply a thin coat, wiping up puddles, and avoiding contact with reinforcing steel greatly improves the odds of producing a defect-free concrete product.
